A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. We use the bare minimum required to keep the Service working, plus a few optional cookies that you can switch on or off at any time. This page lists every cookie we set and what it does.
1. Essential cookies
These are required for the Service to work. They are always on and cannot be switched off because the site simply will not function without them.
- next-auth.session-token — keeps you signed in. First-party, HttpOnly, expires after 30 days of inactivity.
- next-auth.csrf-token — protects against cross-site request forgery during sign-in. First-party, expires at the end of the session.
- polyx_cart — remembers items you have added to the cart. First-party, expires after 30 days.
- polyx_consent — stores your cookie-banner choices. First-party, expires after 12 months.
2. Analytics cookies (optional)
If you opt in via the cookie banner, we set anonymous analytics cookies to understand which pages and features are useful and where we can improve. No personal data is sent — only aggregated counts and anonymised performance metrics. You can opt out at any time without affecting site functionality.
3. Marketing cookies (off by default)
Polyx does not run third-party advertising or remarketing pixels by default. If we ever introduce a marketing pixel (for example, to measure a paid campaign), it will only be set after you explicitly opt in via the cookie banner.
4. Third-party services
Some essential pages embed services that may set their own cookies under your direct relationship with that service:
- Stripe Checkout — set when you enter the payment flow. Used for fraud prevention. Subject to Stripe’s own cookie policy.
5. Managing your preferences
Use the cookie banner that appears the first time you visit Polyx to choose what is enabled. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the polyx_consent cookie in your browser settings and reloading the page.
Most browsers also let you block all cookies entirely. Note that if you block essential cookies, sign-in and checkout will stop working.
